Delete your account — English

This is the same page in English: how to delete your Dekkaneh account and the data attached to it, what is deleted, what is kept and for how long. You can do it yourself inside the app in about a minute; if you cannot get into the app, write to us. Either way it is free.

The app and its publisher

Dekkaneh («دكانة») is an Android app for running a corner shop — point of sale, stock, cash box and a debt book. It is published and operated by Siters Tech, package id tech.siters.dekkaneh. This page sits on our site, dekkaneh.app, and is read alongside ourprivacy policy and terms of service.

Deleting it yourself, in the app

The short way. Nothing to wait for and nobody to write to:

  1. Open Dekkaneh on your phone and sign in if you are not already.
  2. Go to Settings — the last tab in the bottom bar.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account, under «Log out».
  4. The page names your shops and says what goes and what stays. Read it.
  5. Type your phone number in the field to confirm — the same number you sign in with — then tap Delete my account.

It happens there and then: the app signs out and erases the copy held on that phone.

If you cannot get into the app

Lost phone, app uninstalled, sign-in code no longer arriving — write to us:

  1. Any of these: email contact@siters.tech with the subject «Delete account», or message+963 989 824 072 on WhatsApp or@dekkaneh on Telegram opening with those same two words.
  2. Include the phone number your account is registered with, in international format (e.g. +971 50 123 4567), and your shop's name if you have one.
  3. We may text a code to that number to confirm the request is yours — the number is the account's identity — and you send it back the same way you wrote to us.
  4. We confirm we received the request, carry it out, and tell you when it is done.

If you want a copy of your data first, ask for it in the same message: after deletion there is nothing left to send. If you have lost the number and can no longer receive the code, write to any of them and we will agree on another way to verify who you are.

What is deleted

  • Your account itself: phone number, name, and profile picture if you added one.
  • Your sessions on every device, along with the IP address, client and session time stored with them.
  • The shops you own and everything you recorded in them: products, units, prices and barcodes; stock, stock movements and stocktakes; sales, invoices and returns; purchases and suppliers; the cash box, cash movements and expenses; customers and the debt book; employee records and the invitations you sent.
  • Your membership of other people's shops, and your permissions there.
  • Your sync record and its timestamps.
  • The log of verification codes sent to your number.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Subscription, invoice and payment records — kept forten years from the end of the financial year they belong to, then deleted. That is the period commercial law sets for keeping the books (article 19 of Law 33 of 2007), not a period we chose.
  • And what is kept does not point at you — the record is detached from your account when it is deleted, so no number and no name remain on it: an amount, a date and a status with no counterparty. We cannot rebuild your shop from it, or tell that it was ever yours.
  • Data in a shop you do not own — it stays with the owner, because it is their business record. Your account, your membership and your permissions are deleted; what you recorded in their book (a sale, a stock movement, a debt entry) remains theirs, and it is the owner who deletes it, from inside the app or by asking us.
  • The copy on your own phone — deleting from our servers does not reach it; see below.
  • Anything the law requires us to keep — to the extent and for the period it imposes, on a valid and binding official request.

How long it takes

  • In the app: there and then, the moment you tap the button.
  • By message: we acknowledge within a few days and carry it out within 30 days of receiving it.
  • Your data then leaves our backups within 30 days of that, as those are rotated.
  • Deletion is permanent: neither the account nor its contents can be restored.
  • It ends the service and does not refund a paid subscription — see theterms of service.

The copy on your phone

Dekkaneh is local-first: a copy of your book lives in a database inside the app on your phone. Deleting your account from inside the app erases that copy on that phone as part of the same action. If you wrote to us instead, or the app is still installed on another phone you were signed in on, remove it by uninstalling the app, or from Android Settings → Apps → Dekkaneh → Storage → Clear data. Do this before handing the phone to anyone else.
